"Cooling" the nerve - pain relief
C3 CryoSystem is a state-of-the-art single-channel cryosystem with an electrical stimulator designed specifically for use in cryotherapy.
For optimal performance, all important functions are automatically controlled by the system. The system is equipped with an intuitive monitor that guarantees intuitive and easy operation. C3 CryoSystem makes it possible to document cryotherapy for each patient in full.
Untreated chronic spinal pain is one of the main indications for the use of cryotherapy and is the main area of application for the inomed C3 CryoSystem. In the event that drug analgesic therapy or injections do not give the desired result for chronic back pain, it is possible to use such neurodestruction methods as cryotherapy and thermal destruction will lead to pain relief. By disrupting the conduction of pain, these methods represent an effective alternative to improve the patient's condition.
The principle of cryotherapy
The basic principle of cryotherapy is the precise localization of the desired nerves through imaging techniques and electrical stimulation. This is followed by a two or three minute freezing at -60°C. Cold causes axonotmesis (axon separation) in the affected nerve, in which the connective tissue is not damaged and allows the nerve to regenerate. When carrying out cryotherapy, there is no risk of damage to the parts of the nerve responsible for sensitivity and motility.
The C3 CryoSystem with the integrated inomed C3 CryoSonden probe enables easy and safe application of cryotherapy with targeted stimulation and cooling of the peripheral nerve itself.
Cold has been used since ancient times as a means of relieving pain.
Both acute and chronic pain is a big problem for the patient and, of course, for the attending physician. C3 CryoSystem plays a special role in the treatment of chronic pain, since the application of cold has been used to treat pain since primitive times. At the same time, cryotherapy, as a minimally invasive method, is well tolerated by patients.
Features of C3 CryoSystems for cryotherapy:
Application of C3 CryoSystem
The main indication for cryotherapy is intractable chronic pain in the spine, most often it is the facet syndrome of the lumbar spine.
After a long-term reduction in pain, which persists for several months, additional therapies, such as physiotherapy, may be used to consolidate the result. In the presence of medical indications, repeated use of cryotherapy is possible at any time.
